Being back in the UK I knew I had to go and check out Tanya’s Cafe. With the raw food revolution taking over London, this plant filled lunchtime oasis is the talk of the town, so I grabbed some gals and headed down for a much needed catch up over icy mugs of refreshing juice and delicious raw food.
Hidden away in a Chelsea hotel, Tanya’s was not at all what I expected. This bustling little cafe has something for everyone and yummy mummies sit swapping stories among rushed business men who slip in for a quick healthy lunch. The juice (My Doctor - beetroot, carrot, celery, sweet potato, apple, lemon, ginger) was one of the most delicious I’ve ever had… I recreated it at home the next day and I can’t think of a more invigorating way to start your morning.
The three of us shared the tacos, lasagne and pizza for a little taste of everything. The tacos and pizza were beautifully presented and the lasagne was amazingly creamy - thanks to lots of veggies we finished feeling perfectly satisfied but not overly stuffed.
Louisa had to rush off after lunch, so Amelia and I finished off with a bit of raw chocolate... Peanut Butter Cup for her and White Chocolate with Orange and Goji for me. We even had a lovely chat with Tanya herself, who was obviously so passionate about what she does. So all in all, a great lunch in such a relaxed yet vibrant cafe.
